Educational guidance, not medical advice.

G-MIP translates peer-reviewed sports medicine research into practical tools. This page explains what that means — and what it doesn't.

Educational content only

Everything G-MIP publishes — articles, guides, checklists, the Knowledge Library, sport-specific guides, and the Female Athlete Safety Playbook — is educational material. It summarizes peer-reviewed sports medicine research in plain language for athletes, coaches, parents, and schools. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

Not a substitute for professional care

No content on this site creates a clinician–patient relationship. If you have a specific injury, symptom, or health concern — including concerns about RED-S, disordered eating, bone health, or concussion — consult a licensed physician, physical therapist, athletic trainer, or registered dietitian who can evaluate the individual situation.

Youth-led, research-based

G-MIP is founded and led by a student-athlete, not a medical professional or researcher. Guidance on this site is drawn from peer-reviewed sports medicine research and reviewed with people who work in the field, but readers should verify how any general recommendation applies to their own athlete, team, or program with a qualified professional.

The details

Terms of use for our materials

Injury prevention programs, warm-up protocols, and return-to-play frameworks described on this site reflect published research findings in group settings. Individual athletes vary — in anatomy, training history, growth stage, and health status — and general recommendations may not be appropriate for every person.

If an athlete is injured, shows warning signs of concussion, bone stress, or low energy availability, or is returning from surgery, decisions about care and clearance belong to that athlete's licensed medical team.

Citations to original research are provided across our Knowledge Library, articles, and sport-specific guides so readers, coaches, and clinicians can evaluate the evidence directly. Where a source is paywalled, our plain-language summary links to the abstract or consensus statement.

G-MIP, its founder, and its contributors are not liable for outcomes resulting from the use or misuse of educational materials on this site.
